I think I’m right in assuming you like to shop but would you admit your must-haves and payday treats often end up buried and forgotten? Mine do. So when Voucher Codes asked me to take part in their smarter shopping challenge, Wear Your Wardrobe, I jumped at the chance. They’d surveyed British women and found that on average we have 3 never-worn items in our wardrobes (ahem): my brief was to dig out mine and style them using 3 new, versatile pieces bought with an £80 budget. So, here’s what I got!
1. The Breton top
I’ll never, never, never stop loving the Breton. Since my favourite was ruined last summer (a clumsy waiter/red wine incident) I’ve been looking for the perfect replacement. I’ll be able to throw this on with full skirts, shorts, chinos…anything. It’s worn here with jeans bought 2-years ago and never worn before.
What I’m wearing: Muji Breton top c/o Voucher Codes (£29 reduced to £20.30) | Bershka bootcut jeans (old) | Tiffany & Co. bracelet (gift from my man) | Cambridge Satchel via Urban Outfitters | charity shopped Dangelis shoes | MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo worn with Burt’s Bees Red Dahlia Tinted Lip Balm*

2. The black wedges
I’m a fan of comfort (don’t judge me) so go-with-anything black wedges have been on my agenda for years. Below I’m wearing them with an M&S skirt and Oasis top, both of which I bought a few months ago but haven’t worn before, but I’ll been wearing them with trousers and jeans too.
What I’m wearing: Clarks wedges c/o Voucher Codes (£44.99 reduced to £35.99 using a voucher code) | M&S pencil skirt and faux-pearl earrings*| OASIS top | No7 Wild Volume lipstick in Gay Geranium

3. The full skirt
Yes, more stripes (what can I say, I’m a fan)! I’ve had this top for ages but although I love it I rarely wear it; my only explanation is that it’s a bitch to iron. The shoes are a bargain I got from Century 21 (the famous NYC discount store) 2-years ago. The reason they rarely see the light of day is more clear: the only other time I wore then I ended up with blisters and that was on a sat-down-all-night cinema/dinner date with my bff – but I still love them!
What I’m wearing: ASOS skirt c/o Voucher Codes (£35 reduced to £24.50) | Lex.i.con top via TK Maxx (old) | Bongo shoes via Century 21 (old) | charity shop belt | No7 Wild Volume lipstick in Gay Geranium
For (a smidgeon over) £80 I’ve managed to plug some gaping holes in my wardrobe with good quality pieces I’m sure I’ll get lots of wear out of. Happy, happy, happy!
You can find the outfits created by the other challenged bloggers by looking for #vcukwearyourwardrobe on Twitter. I’m keen to hear if this has inspired you to rummage through your own long-forgotten buys so make sure you use the tag and/or leave a comment if you share any similar posts/Twitpics/Instagram photos!
Thanks to Voucher Codes for asking me to take part in this challenge – it was super-fun and I’ve had a bit of an education too!
